Although most folks call me Dax, I was born with the name Daxfurth Wellington Houston. My father made up the name, so I guess it's kinda a family name.
As a native Southern California boy, I have pretty much been involved with the arts since I was a kid. My mommy and daddy both have there Master's degrees in music and both have taught music education in primary schools. I started playing the flute in elementary school and was pretty good at it. Although I stopped playing about four years later, I learned a lot about music, sound, and rhythm.
In addition to studying the flute, my parents pushed me into sports- even though I hated it! My brother, Damon, was always better then me. I used to cheer him on while he would play in all of his all- star games. He is such a jock.
On the other hand, my sister (Nicole/Ciaro) was acting in plays and singing in choirs. J.W. Schlatter was her director and eventually took me under his big wing as well. He believed in my acting (even though I don't think i was very good at the time). But that was okay. That was all I needed.
In high school, I was highly involved with choir and quickly became know as the "singing football player." Nice title,eh? I used to do jêté leaps across the goal line when we scored. haha- I'm kidding. I actually was very good at football, especially my senior year. I was named All CIF Southern Section, Defensive Lineman of the Year, All Orange County, All Long Beach Dream Team, and all of that stuff. I was very thankful for the honors, however football was not what I really wanted to do with my life. All I wanted to do was to express my thoughts through song and dance.
I moved to San Jose State University in the fall of 1995. I have been performing ever since! "Myths and Him" is kinda my way of saying look what I learned in school/thank you for all that have believed in my art. my bio......
